The manometer in the diagram shown in Figure Q2 consists of a small bore U-tube with enlarged ends on which atmospheric pressure is acting. The inside diameter of tube C (U-tube) is 7 mm, and the inside diameters of both A and B are 44 mm. While the water surface on side A remains at atmospheric pressure, the pressure on the oil surface on side B is increased. This pressure increase causes the surface of separation of oil and water to move by 100 mm (vertically) from its original position. Determine the pressure difference between A and B (after the pressure increase on side B). The density of water is 1000 kg/m3, the specific gravity of oil is 0.83, and the acceleration due to gravity is 9.81 m/s2.
