BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION 2;Abstract;Communication is giving and receiving information and is vital to all professions. The way this information is relayed can have an impact on how the information is understood and acted upon. Police officers and those in the field of criminal justice should understand the English language and be able to use it correctly both verbally and written without grammar or spelling mistakes to make the information they are conveying understandable to both their fellow employees and the community they serve. Decisions are made on information that is received, therefor the information needs to be clear and accurate. This paper will explain the communication process, how it affects criminal justice organizations and the barriers that can make communication ineffective.
